Helen Vikla, 89

Helen Vikla, 89, of Lonsdale, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at White Funeral Home in Lonsdale, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel and also one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Czech National Cemetery in Lonsdale.

Helen was born in Wheatland Township on August 21, 1918, to Vencl and Klotilda (Musil) Vikla. After completing her primary school education, Helen lived and worked on the family farm nearly all of her life. For many of those years, she teamed up with her brother Robert to farm and milk a small dairy herd. Helen liked to garden. She also loved dogs and cats.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert and Raymond. She is survived by cousins, Art (Betty) Vikla, Ernest (Janelle) Vikla, Elmer (Margaret) Vikla, Sidney (Betty) Vikla, Floyd (Donna) Vikla and Dorothy Bluel and by other relatives and friends.
