Helen Winterfeldt, 95

Helen Winterfeldt passed quietly into Christ's arms, surrounded by family, May 13th, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center. She was 95. The second of five children born to Christian and Ida (Borchardt) Fahrenkamp, Helen grew up and attended school in rural Spring Lake Township. She married Elmer Winterfeldt in a double wedding, celebrated with her older sister, Laura and Elmer's oldest brother, Erwin in 1940. Helen worked as a laboratory Technician in New Prague for Minnesota Valley Breeders Association, retiring with more than 25 years of service. Additionally, the couple farmed locally near Lanesburgh until declining health forced them from their farm into Traditions of Montgomery Assisted Living Facility in late 2010. Helen moved into Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center, Little Village, following Elmer's death in 2014.

A private family service was held at FaithPoint Lutheran Church, New Prague on Wednesday, May 18th. Their pastor of 26 years, Reverend Dr. Steven Trewartha officiated. Rita Sapp provided the music. Following lunch, burial was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Montgomery. Nephews and nieces served as casket bearers.

Helen is survived by daughter, Iyla of New Prague; youngest sister, Eileen Kes of Savage; sisterin- law, Hazel Fahrenkamp of Jordan; nieces, nephews, and godchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to Faith- Point Lutheran Church. Family flowers by Glenda Young of Michael's in Burnsville.
