Hoops teams each finish 1-1 at Faribault

The WEM boys and girls basketball teams each finished 1-1 in the Faribault Harry Browns Holiday Classic Hoops Tourney Dec. 28 and 29. The boys, rated 11th in Class AA, placed second overall, losing 42-39 to No. 12 rated Class AAA Faribault in the championship. The girls placed third, downing Rockford 50-40 in the consolation championship. Both basketball teams will play NRHEG Thursday, Jan. 5 in battles for the Gopher Conference lead in their respective divisions.
