Hospital asks for traffic study

After a search process that took nearly two years, Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague is getting close to identifying a location for a potential, new hospital.
On Monday hospital CEO Mary Klimp appeared before the New Prague City Council and asked the city to conduct a traffic impact study on the east end of town to determine if the area is feasible for a hospital. The council approved the request. The hospital will reimburse the city for the cost of the study.
In an interview Tuesday, Klimp said the hospital has put earnest money on land in order to do some due diligence, a process that could take as much as a year.
