Hotel Broz sold, again
The Hotel Broz has been sold, according to a Facebook posting on Wednesday, April 12, from Tasha Kallal, one of the owners of the historic building on New Prague’s Main Street.
Kallal and her husband Eric, along with Jay and Darcey Schoenbeck and Dan and Marina McGuire purchased the hotel in early 2016. A previous owner had done a major renovation project on the building that was nearly complete at the time of the sale. At the time of the purchase, the group said they hoped to finish the renovation and find someone who would be able to operate the building as a restaurant and hotel. Since purchasing the site, the partners used the former site of Schumacher’s New Prague Hotel on a limited basis for special events and private parties.
The Times contacted Kallal about the sale, and she said she would have more to say after talking with her partners.
In her post, Kallal said “It's a bitter sweet feeling. 15 months of dreaming of opening something that's perfect for NP (and the area) is now in the hands of another group.” She thanked those who expressed support and interest in the project.
