Irene Shambour, 79

Irene A. Shambour, 79, of Cologne, formerly of Jordan, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Irene was born on September 13, 1933, in Jordan, a daughter of Phillip and Margaret (Zaun) Stocker. She married Bernie W. Shambour on July 18, 1953, in Turlock, CA. Irene shared many interests and hobbies with her husband, including gardening, fishing, motorcycle trips and camping, classic car shows, trips to the casino, and their seasonal home in Sarasota, FL. Irene enjoyed her grandchildren and her family pets. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Cologne.

She is survived by her husband; children Lin Baldwin, Minnetonka, Pat Shambour, Carver, Bernie (Karen) Shambour, Cologne, and Mark Shambour, Sarasota, FL; granddaughter Rebecca Shambour (and fiance’ Cole Pedraja), grandsons Luke and Lance Baldwin, Arcata, CA; siblings Rosalia (Emanuel) Kes, Chaska, Sister Josephine Stocker, Minneapolis, and Willie (Ruth) Stocker, Jordan; brother-inlaw and sister-in-law Leonard and Eleanore Shambour, New Prague, and Jane Shambour, Florida; nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by grandchildren Chelsey and Phillip Shambour; her parents; siblings Elmer, Ralph and Melvin Stocker, Theresa Huckenpoehler and Marcella Johnson; and brother- in-law Jack Shambour.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Feb. 11, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with Rev. Gregory Abbott officiating.

Interment was at the church cemetery. Urn bearers were grandchildren Rebecca, Lance, and Luke.

Visitation was held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, and Sunday at the church one hour prior to services. A prayer service was held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
