Isabelle Suel, 84

Isabelle M. Izzy Suel, 84, of Shakopee, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at St. Gertrude's Health Center in Shakopee.

Izzy was born in Shakopee on August 2, 1934, a daughter of Leo and Mary (McCaffery) Huss. She married Brendan Suel on June 14, 1952, in Shakopee. She was a homemaker and had worked for the Veterans Service Office in Scott County. Izzy was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shakopee, and worked for many years with the Funeral Lunch Committee and the Loaves and Fishes Program through the church. She was a longtime member of the St. Francis Regional Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary in Shakopee, and was an avid bowler.

She is survived by her husband; sons Bob (Pat), Tom (Amy) and Joe (Therese); nine grandchildren Mike, Eric (Laura), Jennifer (Eric) Nelson, David, Jared, Richard, Tim, Katie and Christine; and one great-grandchild Alani.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harold and George; and a sister Eleanor.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 27, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shakopee, with Rev. Peter Wittman, Rev. Joseph Fink and Deacon James Thornton officiating.

Private family interment was held at the Catholic Cemetery in Shakopee. Pallbearers were Eric, Jared, Mike, Tim, Richard and Katie Suel.

Visitation was held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the McNearney Funeral Home in Shakopee.
