It’s cleanup time!
It’s time once again for the City- Wide Cleanup in New Prague.
From it’s earliest days, the Citywide cleanup was a way to show pride in the community. Then, as now, people are encouraged to “declutter” their homes, sheds and yards. It’s time to find all the things that are just taking up space and get rid of them. It’s time to get rid of things that clutter your yard, time to trim trees and shrubbery that have overgrown and time to work on the lawns and gardens to make them presentable for spring and summer.
Residents on the south side of New Prague (in Le Sueur County) during the last weekend in April can put unwanted items on their curb and they will be hauled away at no charge. Aweek later, the first weekend in May, the process will be repeated on the north (Scott County) side of town. Of course, there are limits as to what will be accepted. No electronics or appliances, no large pieces of furniture and no household hazardous waste. Those items can be disposed of at no or minimal cost at the Scott County HHW Center near the intersection of Highways 13 and 282.
Check out the article on Page 1 of this week’s paper, and start digging in your yard and picking out things you no longer need.
