J. Melvin Warnemunde, 83

John Melvin Warnemunde, 83, of Le Center, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004 at Central Health Care Center in Le Center.

John was born in Timberlake, SD, on March 30, 1921 to John and Mayme (Dynes) Warnemunde. He attended Country School near Morristown and farmed in the Kilkenny area until 1973, when he moved to Faribault. In 1996 he moved to Le Center.

John worked for Nutting Trucking Company in Faribault after retiring from farming. He enjoyed dancing, card playing and watching westerns on television.

Surviving John are his four sons Richard (Linda) Warnemunde, New Prague; Robert (Colleen) Warnemunde, Waterville; Larry Warnemunde, Kilkenny; and David (Debbie) Warnemunde, Faribault; sister Luella Young, Portland, OR; brother Milo Warnemunde, Le Center; sister-in-law Ruth Warnemunde, Morristown; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three wives, Ethel Morrissey, Lillian Klehr and Meredith Kaisor, respectively; son Thomas Lee Warnemunde; two brothers, Leon and Father Joseph Warnemunde, and sister Lillian Warner.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 26, at St. Mary’s Church in Le Center. Father Ray Monsour officiated the services.

Pallbearers were Tom, Chuck, Steve, Adam, and Arin Warnemunde, and Tony Ferguson.

Interment was held at Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation was held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Le Center Funeral Home with a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., and on Tuesday one hour prior to service at the church.
