James Eaton, 80

James Patrick Eaton, 80, of New Prague, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at his home. Born in Eveleth and raised in Virginia, James was born July 11, 1932, and was a son of Herman and K a t h r y n (Gately) Eaton. He attended Virginia Elementary, High School and Junior College, and Michigan Technical Institute. Jimmy married Joan Marcaccini on July 30, 1960, in Eveleth. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Austria, and was an engineer for MVE/Chart in New Prague. He served as a city councilman and was a member of the New Prague Golf Club. He is survived by seven children Thomas (Sandy) Eaton, New Prague, Joseph (Shari) Eaton, Eagan, Elizabeth Eaton (Curtis Engebretson), Stillwater, Kathryn (Todd) Scheffler, Waunakee, WI, Pamela (Randy) Muetzel, Oakdale, Charles (Donna Simon) Eaton, New Prague, and Margaret (Dan) Seymour, New Prague; 20 grandchildren; a sister Virginia Mary Krusell, Edina; sister-in-law Lois Ann Eaton, Akron, OH; and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years on January 6, 2012; his parents; and siblings Billy, Johnny and Peggy Richards. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague, with Rev. Kevin Clinton officiating. Interment is at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in New Prague. Pallbearers are Tom, Joe and Chuck Eaton, Todd Scheffler, Randy Muetzel, Dan Seymour and Curtis Engebretson. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
