James Gerald Volek III, 65

James Gerald Volek III, 65, of Prior Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at his home.

The son of James George and Mary Ann (Glassbrenner) Volek II, he was born February 1, 1942, at New Prague. On October 9, 1965, he married Della (Beuch) Volek at Zion United Methodist Church in Lydia.

Jim was a builder and completed many remodeling projects. He enjoyed socializing with people, was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed watching home improvement shows. He took great pleasure in researching both his heritage and the family farm and liked to share his finds with others. He also loved being outdoors.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Zion United Methodist Church in Lydia, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., Pastor Larry Kasten presiding. Interment will be at Concord Hill Cemetery in Prior Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years; children, James P. Volek IV of Coppers Cove, TX, Jean (Thomas) Raduenz of Jordan, and Joseph Volek of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Donald Curry, Christina and Connor Raduenz; sisters, Beverly (Donald) Millard and Mary Jane Fajen, both of Mesa, AZ; mother-in-law, Irene Beuch; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; grandson, Danny Curry; and daughter-in-law, Kristal Volek.
