Joachim honored for 50+ years in DFL activities

Hedy Joachim, 85, of Jordan, was among those honored by the DFL Women's Hall of Fame Saturday, May 31, at the St. Paul Hotel. She was also named the 2008 Woman of Distinction. Her son Ray Jr., Belle Plaine's Jeanette Gloege and Louisville Township supervisor Sue Moravec nominated her for the honor.

Joachim, daughter of the late John and Mary Mares of New Prague, grew up on the family farm west and south of the city.
