Joanne T. Trenda, 49
Joanne T. Trenda, 49, of New Prague, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at her home.
Born July 22, 1956 in Minneapolis, Joanne was a daughter of Clarence H. and Cleo A. (Arends) Smith. She was raised at Coon Rapids and lived at Apple Valley until 1987 when she moved to New Prague. She attended Coon Rapids Schools and Anoka Senior High School. She was a manager of catalogue mail order at Twin City Harley Davidson.
Joanne married Thomas R. Trenda on November 18, 2004, in Lakeville. She was a member of the N.E.W. Lions Club and for many years served as a volunteer for the gifted and talented program in New Prague Schools. She enjoyed camping and fishing and was a talented artist.
She is survived by her husband; children, Dominique D. DuCharme, St. Paul, Angélique M. (David) Pekarna, New Prague, and Matthew D. Pudwill, Le Sueur; her parents, Clarence and Cleo Smith, Mora; parents-in-law, Joe and Colette Trenda, Veseli; and three sisters, Linda (Chuck) Sabatke, Geneva, IL, Bev (Bill) Payne, North Branch and Anita (Al) Standish, New Market.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at Celebration Church in Lakeville, with Rev. Lowell Lundstrom officiating, assisted by Rev. Leon Lundstrom and Rev. John Lapensky. Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Veseli. Casketbearers were Paul Wagner, Warren and Wayne Barsness, George Gilmour, Jimmy Epperson and Allan Standish.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.
