Johannes retiring after 25 years of banking

By Patrick Fisher

It’s been fun. I’ve made some wonderful friends with my customers and co-workers and that’s what I’ll miss the most.

That’s what Joyce Johannes had to say as she prepares for retirement after 25 years in the banking business.

Johannes, an assistant vice president at Wells Fargo Bank in New Prague, began her career in 1980. At that time, she was a teller with the business at 217 West Main Street when it was Fidelity State Bank. Over the years as it changed from Fidelity to Marquette Bank and now Wells Fargo she took the steps in between to her current position.

Johannes has seen lots of changes over the years with banking.

There’s constantly change in every business and you have to adapt to those changes
