John Dolezal Jr., 72
John R. Dolezal Jr., 72, of Montgomery, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at his home.
John was born March 27, 1936, in McLeod County of Minnesota, a son of John Sr. and Sophie (Schultz) Dolezal. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School and high school in Silver Lake, served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958 and then moved to Montgomery. John married Grace Pumper on May 17, 1969, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. He worked for the Green Giant Co. in Montgomery and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being at the lake.
He is survived by his wife; sons Craig (Tony) Dolezal, Woodbury, Scott (Kris) Dolezal, Le Sueur and Paul (Tara) Dolezal, New Prague; brothers Richard (Nancy) Dolezal, Lester Prairie, Franklin (Marilyn) Dolezal, Zimmerman, Leslie (Marcie) Dolezal, Minneapolis and Willard Dolezal, Glencoe; a sister Jane (Gerald) Speckal, Coon Rapids; sisters-in-law Tina and Janet Dolezal, Hutchinson; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald and Edwin Dolezal; a sister Lucille (Steve) Knoll; and a brother Phillip Dolezal in infancy.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 30, at 10 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with Rev. David Barrett officiating and military honors provided by the Montgomery Area Veterans Honor Guard.
Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale. Pallbearers were Craig, Tonya, Scott, Kris, Paul and Tara Dolezal.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, with a KC Rosary Service held at 7:30 p.m.
