Joseph H. Tupy, 90
Joseph H. Tupy, 90, of Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague died on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Mala Strana Health Care Center.
He was born on July 19, 1915, in Wheatland Township, Rice County, to John B. and Mary (Schoenbauer) Tupy. Joseph attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in New Prague.
On November 25, 1940, he married Cecilia Kes at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale. He farmed in Wheatland Township. Joseph was a member of the Catholic Workman; Third Degree K.C.’s; president of the New Prague Firemen’s Association.
Joseph is survived by sons, Eugene (Betty) Tupy, New Prague, and Allen (Sue) Tupy, Eagan; daughter, LaVonne (Ed) Cervenka, Medford; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcella (Ben Sr.) Bartusek, New Prague; one brother-in-law, William (Janet) Kes, Lonsdale; three sisters-in-law, Marion Sirek, Lonsdale, Lorraine Kes, New Prague, Caroline Kes, Lonsdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cecilia, who died August 14, 2002; daughter, Lucille Michael; and grandson, Jim Michael.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. Rev. Francis Roach presided.
Pallbearers were Bill Cervenka, John Michael, Mike, Paul, Joel and David Tupy.
Interment was at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in New Prague.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague and on Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. A parish and K.C. rosary was said at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
