Joseph Sticha, 60

Joseph F. Sticha, 60, of New Market, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at his home.

Born March 20, 1946 at Veseli, Joseph was a son of Charles and Angeline (Cervenka) Sticha. He was born and raised in the Webster area and lived in New Market the rest of his life. Joe attended Veseli Parochial School and New Prague High School, worked at Thermo-King in Bloomington for about 25 years and was a custodian at St. Nicholas Church for 15 years. He also served in the Army National Guard. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and watching auto racing.

He is survived by four brothers and four sisters, Arnold Sticha, Webster, Margaret (Joseph) Lexa, New Prague, Janet (Dennis) Turek, New Prague, Angeline (Ben) Franek, Lonsdale, Betty Jean (Larry) Doyle, Webster, Charles (Shirley) Sticha, Webster, Francis Sticha, Veseli and Norman (Charlene) Sticha, Lonsdale; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Delores Budin.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in New Market, with Rev. Daniel C. Haugan officiating. Interment was at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Veseli.

Pallbearers were Joe's brothers and sisters. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Pexa, Mike Kaufenberg, Ralph Wagner, Stanley Rud, Leo Wagner and Stanley Mach.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, and at the church on Monday from 8 to 10 a.m. Parish prayers were held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
