The joys of the Season

Christmas is a time for giving, a time for gathering and a time for love.
As we go about our holiday business over the next few days, it is important to take into consideration just what it is we are celebrating.
The holiday season, for Christians, is a time to remember a great gift that was given to mankind more than 2,000 years ago. It was a gift that would change mankind.
It was a selfless gift, one that, like many other gifts that will be given this week, was offered out of love for the recipient.
The gift is one that, like many others, is taken for granted.
When you open your packages on Christmas Eve, whether the gift was something you had been hinting at, or whether it was something that was unexpected, be thankful for those gifts. But remember, none of these gifts will mean anything without this gift. That's because this special gift is one that, forgive the expression, is one that keeps on giving.
That gift, as John 3:16 tells us, is one of the foundations of the Christian faith:
For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son
