JV boys hockey team has successful season

The New Prague/Montgomery-Lonsdale junior varsity boys hockey team finished its season with a 15-6-2 record, highlighted by a 2-1 win over Holy Angels in the season finale.

The team, coached by Dan Hager and Shawn Sabol, was led in scoring by Matt Perkinson, with 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points. Mark Kramer had 15 goals and 8 assists for 23 points, and Darin Rezac had six goals and 17 assists for 23 points. Other top scorers were Kurt Swaggert, Colton Borwege, RJ Stark, Joe Olson and Collin Hughes. Others who played JV at different times during the season were Ryan Kriha, Brandon Denker, Brad Benson, Matt Nelson, Kurt Palma, Sam Dresow, Neal Eaton, Bryce Bartelt, Brad Bastyr, Brad Hartman, Nate Thomas and Kyle Kalina.

Kevin Cassidy lead the team in the nets with a goals against average of 1.81 and an 11--3-1 record and five shutouts. Brandon Palma is was 4-3-1 with a 2.78 goals against average and three shutouts.
