Kathleen Novak, 62

Kathleen A. Novak, 62, of Jordan, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at her home.

K a t h l e e n was born on February 10, 1951, in Tacoma, WA, a daughter of John K. and Mary B. ( O w e n s ) Wiley. She attended Wilson High School in Tacoma, Tacoma Community College, and the Western Washington University. She lived in Salem, OR and Kennewick, WA, where she founded the Kennewick Chapter of the Lupus Society. She also lived in Burnsville, New Prague, and St. Patrick for the last 23 years. Kathleen worked as a human resources assistant for Northern Tool & Equipment in Burnsville, and spent 13 years as the superintendent’s secretary in the New Prague Area Schools District Office. Kathleen enjoyed golf, cards and visiting and loved to travel. Kathleen married Donald E. Novak on September 8, 1990, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Prague.

She is survived by her husband; children Megan (Douglas) Eichhorst, New Prague, Jeffrey Novak, Prior Lake, Krista Novak (and Robert Rutherford), New Prague, and Melissa Novak (and Kyle Dennis), Apple Valley; five grandchildren; stepfather George Fortun, Portland, OR; eight siblings John (Amy) Wiley, Spokane, WA, Brigid Allen, Portland, OR, James (Julie) Wiley, Scappoose, OR, Anne (Harry) Sibley, Vancouver, WA, Michael (Mary) Wiley, Portland, OR, Karen (Patrick) Driscoll, Vancouver, WA, Kristen (Jack) Hammonds, Steilacoom, WA, and Kathi (Spence) Johnston, Portland, OR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother in- law Terry Allen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, at 3 p.m., at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, with Rev. George Grafsky officiating.

Interment will be at the Czech National Cemetery in New Prague at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, at the Bruzek Funeral Home.
