Kathryn Taylor, 71

Kathryn E. Taylor, 71, of New Prague, died on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.

Kathryn was born on December 11, 1934, to J. Leonard and Eleanor Suel. She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School in New Prague, New Prague High School, and Mankato Teachers College in Mankato.

Her marriage to Ralph L. Taylor, Jr., took place on February 8, 1964, at the Marine Corps Base in Camp Pendelton, CA. They lived in California, North Carolina and then New Prague. Kathryn was an elementary school teacher at Robbinsdale, Albert Lea, and then Vista, CA. She also taught at New Prague Elementary School and Veseli School. Kathryn was active at St. Wenceslaus Church in various groups and ministries, an AAUW member and active in MCCL.

She is survived by her husband; son, James R. (Stephanie) Taylor, Bloomington; grandson, Jacob Taylor; two sisters, Rita Johnson, Chicago, IL, and Corrine (Richard) Turek, Bay Village, OH; and brother-in-law, Ray (Naneta) Taylor, Oak Harbor, WA; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Suel, Bellingham, WA.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James L. “Jay” Suel II; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Mary Baker.

Funeral services are to be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. Rev. Kevin Clinton will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Turek, Elizabeth Suel, Ann, Nicholas and Anthony Slavik, and Matthew Turek.

Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in New Prague.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, and 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
