Lady Bucs receive No. 1 seed

The WEM girls basketball team received the top seed in the Section 2AA South Sub-Section Tournament, which begins Saturday. The Lady Bucs, 22-3 overall, are the winners of 18 straight games. They captured their first outright undefeated Gopher Conference Championship Friday after downing Blooming Prairie. WEM will host No. 8 seed Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Sub-Section Quarterfinals. A win and they would advance to the Sub-Section Semifinals Thursday, March 3 at Mankato East. Check this website for playoff game updates.
