Lady Bucs win two of three

The WEM girls basketball team is 2-1 after their first three games to start the 2016-17 season. They defeated Belle Plaine 53-49 (Nov. 29) and Blooming Prairie 61-53 (Dec. 2) before losing to Waseca 55-35 (Dec. 6). Kate Masberg has led the team in scoring in all three games, tallying 15, 16, and 8. Shelby Hermel scored in double figures in the first two games, scoring 10 and 16. WEM, 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the Gopher Conference, will travel to USC Friday and host Faribault BA Tuesday.
