Last second shot sinks girls at Orono

New Prague's girls basketball team split a pair of non-conference games with teams from the Wright County Conference last week. They defeated Waconia 58-27 and lost to Orono 49-48 on a last-second shot. A third scheduled game against a WCC foe, Mound-Westonka, was cancelled by Mound and will not be made up.

The Trojans were scheduled to play St. Paul Central, the No. 1-ranked team in Class AAAA on Tuesday. On Friday they host Waseca, then finish off their 2006 schedule Thursday, Dec. 21, at Mankato East.
