LaVonne Anne Goettl, 81

LaVonne Anne Goettl, 81, of Le Center, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 21, 2016. She was born on September 6, 1935, in Mapleton, MN, the daughter of George and Laura (Sack) LeBrun. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Le Center, MN at 10 a.m. with interment at St. Mary’s Calvary Cemetery in Le Center. Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 4-8 at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center and one hour before services at St. Mary’s Gathering Space. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or National Kidney Foundation or St. Mary’s Building Fund.

She met the love of her life, Wilfrid Goettl, at a dance at the Kato Ballroom in Mankato, MN. They married on August 17, 1955 in St. Clair, MN. They were married for 57 years. Together they settled in Le Center and started farming, building their family farm “Goettl Farms” and raising their seven children. After retiring, they started “Willie’s Toy Room” selling toy tractors and other collectibles, going to flea markets and watching “the boys” continue their farming heritage.

LaVonne was a member of St. Mary’s Alter Society, was a 4-H leader, a member of the Pork Producers, and was active with St. Mary’s Church.

LaVonne loved visits and was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She gave the best hugs to everyone! She never missed a birthday and sent birthday cards to every one of them. She will be dearly missed by all. She also enjoyed word finds and jigsaw puzzles, flower gardening, sewing and spending time with family.

LaVonne is survived by her four daughters, Janice (Roger) Willems of Northfield, Dorothy Knish (Dick Esser) of Kilkenny, Helen (Wayne) Zuelch of Le Center, and Rosann Goettl of New Prague, MN and two sons, Robert (Lori) Goettl and Jerome (Carrie) Goettl and daughter-in-law, Laurie (Goettl) Schatz of Le Center, MN, sister-in-law Ruth Le- Brun of Montgomery, MN, as well as 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren with three more expected this winter. She is also survived by many sisters- and brothers- in-law.

LaVonne is preceded in death by husband, Wilfrid Goettl, son, Gary Goettl, her parents; siblings, Delano Le- Brun, Gerald (Ellen) LeBrun, and Beverly (Albert, Sr.) Juliar.
