Lawrence Rich, 39
Lawrence L. Ole Rich, 39, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, in a traffic accident in Franklin County, IL.
Born August 6, 1969, in Shakopee, Ole was a son of Larry and Karen (Skoog) Rich. He attended Chaska Elementary School and was a 1988 graduate of Chaska High School. He then attended Dakota County Technical School for diesel mechanic training. Ole was an over the road trucker since age 18. He married Mary Hoffbeck on May 20, 2000, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. He worked for John's Automotive in Chaska, where John Pelzman was his mentor. Ole was a former member of the Teamsters, the Faribault Harley Davidson Club, and was an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his wife; children Courtney and Chaundra Rich, Montgomery; A sister Mary (Jeff) Halet, Minneapolis; his parents; parents-in-law James and Kathleen Hoffbeck, Veseli; brothers-in-law Kevin (Jean) Hoffbeck, Cedar and Scott Hoffbeck, Farmington; sisters-in-law Kari (Dave) Montanez, South St. Paul, Amy (Curt) Thompson, Lakeville and Dawn (Larry) Robinson, North Branch; and eight nieces and nephews Emma, Evan, Taylor, Zack, Lindsay, Allison, Olivia and Ryan.
A memorial service was held Sunday, April 26, at 4:30 p.m., at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, with Rev. Paul Jarvis of Guardian Angels Church in Chaska officiating.
Visitation was held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bruzek Funeral Home.
