Le Sueur Co. Board OKs personnel actions

Personnel issues were among the major agenda items at the Tuesday, Feb. 6 meeting of the Le Sueur County Board of Commissioners.
Personnel Coordinator Peggy Donovan made the following recommendations, which were approved by the board:
-Accept the resignation of Lisa Davies, environmental health specialist, effective Feb. 9. Davies has accepted a position with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and will be relocating.
-Post and advertise for a full-time environmental health specialist to replace Davies.
-Resolution that effective December 19, the position Matthew Shouler held is that of a police officer and he shall become a member of the Public Employees Retirement Association's Police & Fire Plan.
-Grant permanent status to Scott O'Brien, jailer/dispatcher in the sheriff's department effective Feb. 5.
-Accept the resignation of Pat Ebert, children's mental health case manager in the Human Services Department effective Feb. 22. Ebert will join Goodhue County as a probation officer.
-Post and advertise to fill Ebert's position.
-Job description for the position of park director-E-911-county agricultural inspector.
Also at Tuesday's meeting:
County Engineer Darrell Pettis presented his monthly report of highway department activity. He said one problem the county needs to deal with is a new environmental law that states, Truck & equipment wash water must be collected and properly disposed of and wash water may not be discharged to a storm drain
