Le Sueur Co. board sets hearing on proposed meth lab ordinance
By Jake Keohen
The Le Sueur County Board scheduled a public hearing to consider a meth lab ordinance at its regular meeting held Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the courthouse in Le Center.
Following discussion of a proposed ordinance with Lisa Davies of environmental services, Director of Public Health Cindy Shaughnessy and Sheriff's Investigator Keith Frederick, the board scheduled the hearing for 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14.
The officials said the proposed document, or Cleanup of Clandestine Drug Lab Sites Ordinance, is a generic form with input from similar ordinances used by counties throughout the state. The ordinance was first discussed at the July 6 board meeting and has been a work in progress since that time.
This ordinance is intended to protect the health and safety of Le Sueur County residents
