Le Sueur Co. Commissioners authorize sale of bonds, set hearing on tax abatement proposal

The Le Sueur County Board authorized the issuance and sale of capital improvement and wastewater fund bonds at the regular meeting held Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the courthouse in Le Center. The commissioners also set a public hearing on a tax abatement proposal for the City of Le Sueur.
Bonding information was provided by Bruce Kimmel of Springsted Inc., the county's financial advisors. The capital improvement plan bonds in the amount of $2.55 million will fund projects such as highway maintenance and construction. Bonding at a low interest rate is a prudent method to maintain and improve roads in the county
