Le Sueur County Board hears from fraud investigator and holds FRST Workshop

As part of the monthly Human Services Department update, Joe Arendt with Midwest Welfare Fraud Investigations of St. Paul addressed the Le Sueur County Board at their board meeting held on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Arendt provided an overview of the fraud prevention and investigation program measures he conducts as a private contractor with the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services, the Le Sueur County Department of Human Services Department and six other counties. He provided basic information on how he conducts an investigation to prevent fraud, thereby saving money for the county and state. He also answered questions from the Board members.

The Board scheduled the auction of the Le Sueur County tax forfeited lands inventory for Friday, November 18, at 10 a.m. at the Le Sueur County Auditor-Treasurer Office.

After the adjournment of the meeting, the Le Sueur County Board held a FRST  Workshop. FRST refers to Francis, Rays, Sakatah and Tetonka Lakes in the Waterville-Elysian area. The purpose of the workshop was to review the draft ordinance and proposed timeline for a septic system inventory in the FRST area. The Board set a public hearing for comment on the draft ordinance for Tuesday, October 18 at 11 a.m. at the Le Sueur County Courthouse.
