Leon Seurer, 65

Leon F. Seurer, 65, of Eagan, formerly of New Prague, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul.

Leon was born July 26, 1947, in New Prague, a son of Ralph and Dorothy (Pauly) Seurer. Born and raised in New Prague, he attended St. Wenceslaus School and New Prague High School. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at New Prague A.M.P.I., and was a trucker for Viesmann Trucking of Gary, SD. Leon loved motorcycling and old cars, fishing and car shows with his grandsons. He was also an avid hunter.

He is survived by his former wife Diane Seurer, Eagan; children Scott Seurer, Faribault, and Rebecca (Kevin) Dirksen, Rosemount; two grandchildren Mitchell Lee Seurer, Eagan, and Fritz Dirksen, Rosemount; and four siblings Karen (Gary) Barclay, Prior Lake, Randy (Marlene) Seurer, New Prague, Patti (Jim) Mahowald, New Prague, and Debe Bohnsack (and fiance´ Ron Giesen), New Prague.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Bruce Bohnsack; and his parents.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m., at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.

Honorary pallbearers were Mitchell Lee Seurer, Fritz Dirksen and Jonah Slater.

Visitation was held from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Bruzek Funeral Home.
