The New Prague Library wants to Change Your World

The theme for National Library Week, April 2-8, is Change Your World @ Your Library.

There are many ways for people to change their part of the world, just as libraries have changed and offer more than just books these days.

One of those offerings is internet access, according to Lori Weldon, manager of the New Prague Library.

The New Prague Memorial Library has five terminals where a person can do everything, including checking their email, web surfing, and doing research for projects. Four of the terminals allow a person one-hour access. The fifth is called an express terminal, since it’s for people who need quick access to a computer. The time limit for its use is 15 minutes. A person can sign up for any of the computers by using their library card and a pin number, which they can get at the library.

The library has also moved into the computer age by offering people the chance to look for books at home. A person can check out the library’s online card catalog and online reference collection by going to Scott County Library’s main web page at
