Lillian Jirak, 93, of Lonsdale, died on Monday, March 6, 2003, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.

She was born on December 12, 1912, in Le Sueur County to Joseph and Mary (Hanek) Novotny. She attended country school and worked at the canning factory in Montgomery before marriage.

On October 26, 1931, she married George Jirak at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. They farmed in the Montgomery, New Prague and Lonsdale areas. After retiring, they moved to Lonsdale in 1977 and to Mala Strana Health Care Center in 1996.
