Local families rebuilding after fires

Two local families have been rebuilding their lives in the wake of separate fires that destroyed their homes in Cedar Lake Township.

John and Kit Fucile lost their home at 3755 East 250th St. on Friday, Dec. 26, and Rodney and Karla Vivant of 23291 Newport Ave. lost theirs on Saturday, Dec. 27.

Kit Fucile said they are renting a home near Cedar Lake and are currently looking at rebuilding their house. The couple is also looking at replacing the four automobiles they lost in the fire that started in the garage and spread to the house.
