Local girl wins calf at beef expo

Patrick Fisher, Staff Writer

Megan Schoenbauer, daughter of Pam and LeRoy Schoenbauer of New Prague, proved that hard work pays off as she was awarded a registered Charolais calf at the Minnesota Youth Beef Experience Program (MYBEP).

Megan, 14, and eighth-gradera at New Prague Middle School, was second out of 800 applicants. She will be caring for the white heifer that will be kept at Bill and Amy Sirek's Angus farm. She received the calf at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on October 18.

This is a huge honor
