Local Salvation Army kettle drive winding down as Christmas nears
As Christmas approaches, New Prague's Salvation Army Kettle Drive program is winding down. Groups of volunteers have manned kettles in front of the Econofoods, Holiday and New Prague Market Place stores during the holiday season.
This is the 10th year for the local kettle drive program, begun in 1997 by Dick Lucas, Palmer Welcome, Jon Hendricks and Jill Rohloff. Lucas, Welcome and Rohloff are still involved in the drive, as is Lucas' son, David.
We are supporters of the program because we appreciate their mission statement
