Lois Ries, 74

Lois Mary Ries, 74, of New Market, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at the Northfield Hospital in Northfield.

Lois was born March 5, 1933, in Cuba City, WI, a daughter of Joseph and Bernice Simon. She married Benjamin John Ries and was a school cook.

She is survived by children, Barb Ries, Jim (Kim), Tom, Bob (Julie), Dave, and Paul (Joanne); eight grandchildren; siblings, Melvin (Arlene) Simon, Marlene Hanson, Jim (Mary Lou) Simon, Jerry (Nancy) Simon, Sis (Duane) Bergstrom, Joe (Sandy) Simon, Sr. Zita Simon and Betty Kleindl; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and two infant daughters, Helen and Carol.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Elko New Market, with Rev. Daniel Haugen officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment was at the church cemetery in Elko New Market. Pallbearers were Jim, Bob, Paul, Nathan, Brandon and Austin Ries.

Visitation was held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at White Funeral Home in Lakeville.
