Lonsdale loses to Winsted in opening round

The Lonsdale Aces of the Dakota-Rice-Scott baseball league lost their opening round game in state Class C baseball play Saturday, Aug. 22, at Gaylord. Winsted defeated the Aces 10-1.

Their Aces' D-R-S league record was 14-7, and overall they won 20 games and lost 12.

Lonsdale scored first as Chad Vosejpka opened the second inning with a single and came around on two successive bad throws on bunts by pitcher Josh Anthony.

But Anthony redeemed himself, striking out 12 and driving in two runs with two doubles while batted 3-for-5.
