Loretta Dols, 84
Loretta J. Dols, 84, of Belle Plaine, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at her residence in the Oak Terrace Senior Living Facility in Jordan.
Born in St. Lawrence Township, rural Belle Plaine, on September 14, 1927, she was a daughter of William and Laura (Piemeisel) Baier. She was raised on the family farm and attended the St. Lawrence Country School until the 8th grade, and then graduated from Jordan High School. She then moved to Minneapolis and worked for the Marquette Company. On September 13, 1952, she married Donald Dols, in Minneapolis. In 1955, they moved to the Baier family farm in St. Lawrence Township. She had been employed as a bookkeeper with Schmitz Farm Equipment and Pearson Florist, and also worked as a secretary for the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Jordan, where she was a lifetime member. She enjoyed gardening, working crossword puzzles, sewing and embroidering, and was involved in the VFW.
She is survived by daughters Lynette Bisek, New Prague, Valerie Dols (Dave Butler), Jordan, Elaine (Terry) Burtman, Belle Plaine, Denise (Dave Jr.) Dezelske, Belle Plaine, and Dawn (Dwayne) Read, Jordan; a sister Betty McClurg; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law Jerome Bisek; and a sister Lois Schuster.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, at 11 a.m., at Immanuel United Methodist Church of Jordan, with Pastor Larry Kasten officiating.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wagner Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Burial will be at Spirit Hill Cemetery in Jordan. Pall- bearers will be grandchildren.
