Lorraine S. Geis, age 95

Lorraine S. Geis, age 95, of Shakopee, entered eternal life on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at her home in Shakopee.

Lorraine was born in St. Benedict, MN, on March 3, 1921, the daughter of Anton "Tony" and Helena (Stocker) Lambrecht. She married Eddie Geis on October 1, 1940, they farmed for 11 1/2 years before moving to Shakopee in 1951.

She was employed at the Shakopee Correctional Center for special needs children; Electro-craft, and retired in 1994 while working at Physical Electronics.

Lorraine liked to embroider cross stich quilt blocks and donate them to Church of St. Mark so quilts could be made. She liked cooking and baking, and eating fish. She also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and scrabble.

From April until October she loved to watch the MN Twins, win or lose. She was a member of the Shakopee V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, St. Bridget's Society of the Catholic Aid Association, and the Council of Catholic Women at Church of St. Mark.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie; parents, Tony and Helena Lambrecht; infant twin sister; sister, Jane (Ray) Kalal; brothers, Melvin and Tony Lambrecht; brother-in-law, Dan Breeggemann.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Fran) Vohnoutka; grandchildren, Mitch Vohnoutka (special friend, Terri Hanson), Tracy (Jeff) Monnens; great-grandchildren, Kassie (Jody) Green and Kerry Vohnoutka; sisters, Severin Breeggemann and Alice (Chuck) Blaha; sisters- in-law, Clarice and Shirley Lambrecht; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation Tuesday, February 21, 2017, from 4-7 PM, and Wednesday from 9:30- 10:30 AM, both at McNearney- Schmidt Funeral and Cremation, 1220-3rd Ave. E., Shakopee.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, 11 AM at the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne, in the Church of St. Mark, 350 South Atwood St., Shakopee. Presiding is the Reverend Michael Daly. Serving as pallbearers are Mitch Vohnoutka, Jeff Monnens, Flavian "Junior" Geis, Kerry Vohnoutka, Jody Green, and Al Stang. Honorary pallbearers are Tracy Monnens, Kassie Green, and Terri Hanson. Private Family Interment will be held at Catholic Cemetery in Shakopee, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
