Lovaas wins 3rd Elysian Rookie's Triathlon

Brett Lovaas of Minnetonka won the 34th annual Elysian Rookie's Triathlon Saturday, July 8. This is his third all-time championship, which ties him for second most in the race's history.

Minnetonka resident Brett Lovaas won his third Elysian Rookie's Triathlon Saturday, July 8. The field of athletes included four previous champions. Lovaas was the champion in 2006 and 2010. He edged 2015 champion Mike Cahill of Janesville and 2014 champion Zane Grabau for the top spot. Katie DeRegnier of Farmington won the women's race, defeating two-time defending champion Bette Rowley of Burnsville. For more on the triathlon check out the July 13 edition of the LIFE/Enterprise.
