LS County board OKs permits

The Le Sueur County Board approved three conditional use permits (CUPs) as part of its meeting agenda for Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Planning & Zoning Administrator Kathy Brockway presented the following requests as recommended by the P&Z commission:

-Cory and Lisa Reimer, New Prague (applicant/owner), a CUP to construct an additional single-family dwelling in an Ag Residential district in Lanesburgh Township.

-Pro Source Technologies Inc., Coon Rapids (applicant), Leo & Sandra Koppelman, Cleveland (owner), a CUP to construct a 300-foot guyed cellular tower in an Ag District of Cleveland Township. Conditions include a change in style and height of tower to 195 feet self-supporting; applicant must abide by regulations set forth in the Le Sueur County Zoning Ordinance; space on the tower will be made available to the county for emergency service if needed.

-John Seitz, Kasota (applicant), Dale Wach, Kasota (owner), a CUP to allow grading and filling of approximately 200 cubic yards of material in a Recreational Residential District on a Recreational Development Lake (Washington) in Kasota Township.

Also at Tuesday's meeting:

• The board approved the recommendation of Personnel Coordinator Cindy Westerhouse to grant permanent status to Mia Sutter, office assistant II in human services.

• Following a public hearing and presentations by Don Hayden of the Le Center EDA and a representative of F&L Development of Luverne, the board approved a tax abatement for a Guardian Inn motel in Le Center on a 3-2 vote. The $1.4 million project will have county taxes abated over a 10-year period in the amount of $68,992. We would appreciate your vote and support
