LS Sheriff’s office arrests 2 in murder plot

The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman from Le Sueur and her mother, from Cleveland, for conspiracy to commit murder.

Le Sueur County Sheriff Dave Tietz said in a press release that Blanche Elizabeth Wilson, 41, of Le Sueur and her mother, Linda Kay Bloom, 59, of Cleveland have been arrested and charged. Both are in the Le Sueur County Jail.

The release stated that the sheriff’s office was contacted by a subject who reported that Wilson and Bloom were talking about hiring someone to kill Wilson’s ex-husband. He had recently received custody of the two minor children he fathered with Wilson.

During the course of the investigation, an undercover officer was introduced to Wilson and Bloom and over the course of several meetings, Wilson and Bloom provided details where the ex-husband lived and worked, and provided photographs of the ex-husband.  In exchange for killing of the ex-husband, Wilson and Bloom agreed to pay an amount of money and sign-over ownership of a motor vehicle.

On Thursday, June 23, the release said Wilson again met with the undercover officer, who showed Wilson photographs of the ex-husband’s “staged” dead body and Wilson referenced getting/paying money from a loan that was co-signed by another family member. After the meeting with the undercover officer was concluded, Blanche Wilson was arrested in the City of Cleveland and Linda Bloom was later arrested at another family member’s residence in rural Le Sueur County.

The charge is a felony-level offense punishable up to 20 years in jail. Bail hearings for both Wilson and Bloom are pending for Friday afternoon.
