Lucille R. Vochoska Javurek, 87

Lucille R. Vochoska Javurek, 87, of New Prague, died on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.

Lucille was born on June 27, 1918, in Montgomery Township to Joseph and Rose (Janovsky) Wondra and was raised in Montgomery. She attended Le Sueur County District School.

She married Martin Vochoska on September 11, 1940, at St. John’s in Montgomery. She farmed with Martin for 45 years. After Martin’s death, Lucille married Stanley Javurek on October 24, 1987 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague and moved to New Prague. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and participated in Card-O-Rama at Queen of Peace Hospital. She was employed by Emil Dvorak and Cambridge Egg Company in egg production, and was a cook for New Prague High School and Clemmer’s Restaurant. She loved playing cards, gardening, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by children, James Vochoska (special friend, Gloria Shelton), New Prague, Dorothy (Jim) Ennis, Clarissa, Stanley Javurek, Mound, Evelyn (Bernie) Barabash, Montgomery, Josephine Lightfeather, Minneapolis; brother, Leonard (Viola) Wondra, Montgomery; sister, Vanjie (Jack) Burns, St. Thomas; daughter-in-law, Merrie Vochoska, Minneapolis; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Martin Vochoska on August 3, 1968; her second husband, Stanley Javurek Sr., on February 15, 2001; two sons, Edward and Robert Vochoska; three sisters, Delores Pan, Leola Kaisershot and Jeanne Moreland.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. Rev. Syl Brown officiated.

Pallbearers were Jason Javurek, Joel and James Vochoska, Dennis Rutt, Joe Wondra, Jim Ennis, Jim Miller, Scott Fish, Paul Schield, Michael Winterfeldt. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Interment was at the Czech National Cemetery in New Prague.

Visitation was at Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Parish prayers were said at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
