Magdalen Kroyer, 97

Magdalen C. Kroyer, 97, of Shakopee, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at St. Gertrude's Health Center in Shakopee.

Magdalen was born at Jordan on October 29, 1913, a daughter of Jacob and Theresa (Kersting) Klehr. She married Sylvester Kroyer on November 9, 1931, at Marystown. Magdalen worked as an interior designer and beautician and also drove a portable feed mill truck with her husband, as they provided service to farmers. She was a member of St. Ann's Society of the Catholic Aid Association of St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church. She was known to her family as Daddy's Girl, as she shared many activities with her dad. Magdalen was a religious woman and had many interests, including playing cards and bowling.

She is survived by a daughter Ginny (Gene) Hauer; daughter-in-law Barbara Kroyer; a sister Lorraine Borka; sister-in-law Agnes Klehr; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son Edward; infant grandson Bradley; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church in Marystown, with Rev. Peter Wittman officiating.

Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Marystown. Pallbearers were 12 great-grandchildren Jeremy, Jason and Bradley O'Donoghue, Angela Kroyer-Hennen, Jarett, Jordan, Joshua and Brianna Heller, Billy and Scott Hauer and Brandon and Nicholas Swanson.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McNearney Funeral Home in Shakopee.
