Man attacks cop, tries to take gun
A man from Farmington is charged with three felonies after he threatened and attempted to disarm a Montgomery Police officer and obstruct the legal process on Sunday, Aug. 7 in Montgomery.
According to the complaint filed in Le Sueur County Court, at approximately 9 p.m. the Montgomery Police Department responded to a report of suspicious activity in the 300 block of Oak Ave SW. When Officer Hunter Hubner arrived, he saw Joshua Scott Thimsen, 35, of Farmington, displaying erratic behavior, causing a disturbance and threatening suicide.
While Hubner attempted to place handcuffs on Thimsen for safety and get him a 72-hour psychological evaluation, a physical altercation between them ensued.
The complaint states the officer got one handcuff on Thimsen’s wrist when he began to pull away and use force to get away. Thimsen then allegedly got on top of Hubner and started punching him in the face, when the officer fought back.
