Maple River ends WEM hoops season

Maple River scored the final seven points of the South Sub-Section Championship game Monday night at Bresnan Arena on the campus of Minnesota State University-Mankato, helping them defeat the WEM boys basketball team, 51-46. The Bucs held a 46-44 lead with 1:15 to play, but were unable to score the final 75 seconds. WEM finishes its season 25-4 overall. Maple River will face Belle Plaine at 8 p.m. Friday, March 4 for the Section 2AA Championship. Check out the March 3 edition of the LIFE/Enterprise for more on this game.
