Mark Huber, 84

Mark J. Huber, 84, of Belle Plaine, died on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine.

Mark was born on March 31, 1926, in Le Sueur, a son of Frank and Margaret (Luskey) Huber. He grew up in Belle Plaine and graduated from Belle Plaine High School. At age 18, he joined the U.S. Army and served in WWII. When he returned to Minnesota, he married Ivona Toy Weiss on January 27, 1948, in Glencoe. Mark worked as a meat cutter for the family business, which he and his brother, Fran, took over in 1966. In 1984, he retired and sold the family business to his sons Joe and Bill. Mark was a member of the Belle Plaine Vets Club. He is survived by his wife;

children Joe Huber, Belle Plaine, Mary Kay (Todd) Proshek, New Prague and Bill (Lois) Huber, Belle Plaine; grandchildren Timothy, Jennifer (Chris) Witt, Daniel, Patrick, Katie (Andy) Stoterau, Nick (Stacy), Tom, Kelly, Paul (fiancee Tina Odegard) Proshek and Katelyn Proshek; great- grandchildren Bryce and London Witt, Ella, Addie and Audrey Stoterau, Tristan and Avery Huber; siblings Art (Pat) Huber, Belle Plaine, Fran Huber, Belle Plaine, John Huber, Willmar, Jim (Lu) Huber, Canby and Mary (Graham) Jaros, East China, MI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters-in-law Leona and Margaret.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, with Rev. Roger Hessian officiating.

Interment was at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine.

Visitation was held Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements were with Kolden Funeral Service, Belle Plaine.
