Mark "Nuz" Anton Gaul
Mark "Nuz" Anton Gaul, 56 of Meadowlands, Minn., passed away on June 26, 2017, at The Solvay Hospice House from a short battle with lung cancer.
Born in Slayton, Minn. on July 15, 1960, to Anton and Ruth Gaul. In 1982 his son Dustin Gaul was born and in 1987 he met the love of his life Jodi Ann Fosness. They were married October 15, 1988 and had three children together.
Nuz worked for Green Giant in Montgomery for many years before moving to Meadowlands in 1997, where he became the Mayor shortly after. Nuz was a Union Painter for 30 years along with opening the Trailside Lounge & Grill in 2007 with his wife Jodi, where you would always find Nuz with a smile and a good story. Nuz was an avid Harley enthusiast who loved the open road with trips across the country. He also loved to ride his ATV on trails and was one of the founders of the Twin River Riders ATV Club.
Nuz was preceded in death by his father, Anton; brother, Steve Gaul and father in-law, Allan Fosness.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth of Montgomery; his wife of 28 years, Jodi; children, Dustin (Becky) Gaul; Owen (Alyssa White) Gaul, Jamie (Joe) Durovec and Peter Gaul; grandchildren, Carson, John, Leah and Mariah Gaul, Willo Gaul, Jameson and Jasper Durovec; sisters, Sandy Lowry, Karen Trcka, Carol Baer, Mary Rieck & Lisa Jakes; brothers, Dale, Ron, Bob, Ed, Ted, & Dave Gaul; mother in-law, Carole (Randy) Janke; brothers in-law, sisters in-law, many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
A Celebration of Nuz's life was held on Sunday, July 2 at the Trailside Lounge & Grill, Meadowlands. Mass of Christian Burial was on Monday July 3rd at St. Louis Church, Floodwood.
A local Celebration of Life and benefit for the family will be held on Saturday, September 16 at Richter’s Woods County Park. More information will follow.
