Marlene Adamek, 53

Marlene Marie Mar Adamek, 53, of Jordan, died at her home on Thursday, June 25, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born October 3, 1955, in New Prague.  She married Kevin Adamek on August 17, 1974, at St. John's Catholic Church in Jordan. Mar was a member of the Jordan Fire Department Auxiliary and the Council of Catholic Women.  She was a day care provider for 16 years. Mar and Kevin also owned and operated NAPA Auto Parts in Jordan and Chaska for 10 years. Most recently Mar worked at Flagship Bank for the last 10 years as the head teller. She enjoyed camping, shopping, making blankets, and playing games with friends and family. Mar loved collecting singing and dancing stuffed animals, which made lots of noise.

She is survived by her husband; children Chad (Amanda) Adamek, Jordan, Stacie (special friend Chris Theis), Prior Lake, Cory Adamek, Jordan, Tyler Adamek, Jordan and Tanner Adamek, Jordan; grandchildren Logan, Emma and Mason; special companion, her dog, Haley; brothers Butch (Joann) Link, Jordan, Jim Link, Lester Prairie and Gerry Link, Jordan; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Tillie Link; and brother Dick Link.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan, with Rev. Timothy Yanta and Rev. Jim Perkl officiating.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan, and also one hour prior to the service at church.
